A collaborative project with Aya Seko & Ruben Ochoa's Class:C Gallery
VANVANVANTARO! (2004) is an inflatable body, a Frankenstein's monster-like creature of pop cultural appeal. As a play on space, the inflatable is another body the viewer must contend with in the confines of Ochoa's mobile sculpture-gallery space. Overtaking the far corners of the interior, the 'monster' spills out into the safety of the exterior public space. In supporting the guerrilla tactics of Ochoa's project, Vanvanvantaro! moves through urban space as Class:C brings the art to where the public exists in defiance of establishment art institutions.
